The Art Of The Wild Captured By Local Taxidermist
Tate Follett is a 6th generation North Parker. He grew up hunting and fishing every
opportunity he got, whether it was riding his bike to the Michigan and Illinois Rivers
to go fishing after school or waking up early to go coyote hunting with some
buddies. He has always been passionate about hunting, animals, and the outdoors,
so pursuing a career in taxidermy was a natural direction for him to take. Tate’s career change came about when he moved from Walden to Craig, Co

Raw Beauty Captured In Art
The Earth and it's bounty inspires every aspect of North Park life. From adventuring in the high country to living in the "one horse town" of Walden, everything raw and simple sheds a light on how blessed we are to have this place in our life. For one local artist, the more natural and organic the better. The roots of mountain life have inspired her to share the beauty of North Park in her passions. Amy Symonds is an artist extraordinaire, growing up in the North Park area

Polished Stones Become A Work Of Art
There’s a beauty that can be buffed and polished from what lays in plain sight right under your nose. A local artist has been rock hounding for years, but recently turned his passion into beautiful artwork in the form of jewelry. Cliff Parker, a 1980 NPHS graduate is the owner and designer of Twining Rose Lapidary & Handmade Jewelry. He makes handmade sterling silver jewelry with stones that I have cut and polished. To begin with, he was just cutting and polishing some ston

Turning Boots Into A Work Of Art
The royalty for the North Park Never Summer Rodeo has been dressed from head to toe in beautiful gear from a variety of their sponsors including Boot Barn of Cheyenne, Steamboat Western Wear, MJ Belts, P Diamond Livestock and Colorado Boot Bags & Upholstery. The patriotic colors of the red, white and blue are the theme for the rodeo and are carried over into the durable and beautiful designs our royalty chaps are made with. Seven years ago, Millie Mathies donated her time a

Calving season is nearly done and area ranchers are celebrating their calf crop at brandings throughout the Park. This time honored tradition is a bucket list experience for photographers. She Deliver Smiles
Tucked away in a garage on Grant Street is a workshop that delivers smiles for many occasions. They come in many colors, shapes, varieties and sizes. These smiles bloom in a variety of ways and the receiver is never let down. This blooming business stems from a passion in the art of floral design. Deb Pittington has been a floral designer now for decades. She started designing in 1968 at Earls Flowers in Loveland as a Sophomore in high school. She spent many years in Ste

Bold, Daring & Beautiful
Bold, daring and beautiful. Many words are use to describe this magnificent North Park character-eccentric, eclectic, charming, debonair, exciting but never can we call her boring! Wherever Krissy Shaw shows up she's the life of the party and is sure to offer a few good laughs. Her heart is as big as her artwork, creative and dynamic. We've seen her work on oil canvases, on a variety of signs and even paper Mache' moose around town, but her latest masterpiece is the photo

Recycled Ropes Become Art
In addition to ranching, I started making rope baskets in 2002. The first time I saw a picture of a rope basket in a magazine, I was hooked. Now I just needed to figure out how to make one. Thankfully, I had a friend who knew the craft and was willing to teach me. We had met a previous summer, while she was camping at the Gould KOA. She returned to camp the next summer, and that is when the fun started. I am never short on material for baskets; on a cattle ranch there is no

Artist Reflects The Best of North Park
Raising horses and making glass art are two of the best things about living in North Park. There are so many inspiring ideas brought on by this beautiful place we live. My husband Gordon and I cattle ranched for years but have been just raising horses for awhile now. We have an AQHA stallion, Frostys Charmer, and a small band of mares we breed to him. I love spring when the foals are born and the mares softly nicker to their babies. Watching foals strengthen their new long le
