North Park Coaching Sticks With You For Life
Growing up in Walden and being Wildcat was awesome. We always told our girls that it was a special place to be a child and teenager, learning to become the adults we are today. Looking back, especially at our community, everyone was like family and watched out for each other. As kids, we couldn't get away with anything. If you did something out of line your parents knew what we had done before we got back home that same day. That's probably why as we got older and started pl

Clarinet Student Marches For Patriotism
July is over! How did that happen so quickly? One highlight was the Colorado Masonic Band Camp. This scholarship program was for 9th-11th grade Colorado High School students. The students were to have musical expertise in at least one instrument. Music students of great caliber and musical ability were selected by their home Music teacher to attend. The camp was hosted by the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, was attended by 55 schools and participation include

On Top Of Their Game Down Under
Two North Park athletes are on top of their game after returning from the land “Down Under.” North Park Wildcat student athletes, Nic Martin and Kayla Jenkins recently participated in the Down Under Sports program as ambassadors for our community and state. Nic and Kayla both spent 9 days on the Gold Coast of Australia, participating in an international athletic event in basketball and track and field respectively during the month of July. The Heart Of A Wildcat
This week we honor an incredible lady that has dedicated the last 28 years of her life to the North Park School District. As the ultimate cheerleader of the blue and gold, today reaches the retirement celebration of school manager Nancy Benson. Nancy has spent her career supporting young people in academics and athletic accomplishments. She's been our caretaker at school and been our biggest cheerleader. No one’s blood runs in the blue and gold deeper than that of this Mama

Lessons Learned
When Jamie asked me to write for her blog about track and lessons learned or fun/funny stories, it was hard to narrow it down to just a few. I learned a lot from sports in North Park from perseverance to teamwork, you know the basics. With state this weekend I thought the most appropriate lesson would be ‘throw all of yourself into whatever you do.’ This lesson came to me a couple times in my career as a ‘track-lete’ before it fully sank in. First time I was watching Mr. Land

Tough Conditions Yield Tough Athletes
North Park is an amazing place that is good for many things like hunting and fishing, hiking, enjoying majestic views, getting snowed in for weeks at a time, discovering what minus 60 degrees feels like in your lungs; I could go on and on. One thing North Park isn’t so great for is practicing track and field. Between the weather, and the lack of resources we have, it’s kind of amazing we even have a program. Our “track” is actually too short and made of dirt and we share it w
