

Celebrating North Park Wildflowers
The last thing that comes to mind to most North Parkers this time of year is wildflowers unless it is in a daydream as we long for warmer temperatures. Students at Walden Elementary have put their artistic skills to good use though to remind us of the amazing beauty of North Park summers and beautiful fields of wildflowers in their newest calendar. The calendar is created by 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade students. The 3rd grade class included a statement about their chosen flower,


Pollinator Power
Did you know that without pollinators and especially bees, many of the fruits and vegetables we enjoy would never grow! 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders at North Park Schools have been busy for the past month learning about the importance of pollinators! Wrapping up their 6th year co-leading the program, Deb Alpe with CSU Extension and Marti Aitken, Parks District Botanist with USDA Forest Service teach students about the variety of pollinators in the world, the butterfly life cycle


Education Outside the Box
The annual North Park School Earth Day event was initiated in 2009 during the first year that the members of Jackson County Outdoor Education Network started working together! The event has happened every year since, except one when it was cancelled because road conditions during a big snowstorm preventing an out of county key presenter pulling a big activity trailer from driving to North Park! 4th-8th grade students visited a variety of educational stations on topics related
