Rodeo Dedicated To Jack Lewis

Jack Lewis

Jack Lewis was born and raised near Boulder, Colorado where his agriculture background began. He became tired of milking cows and found a listing in the Record Stockman for HELP WANTED in North Park on Bob Richards ranch. The mountains were calling and Jack was ready to go.

Jack loaded up his wife Judy and headed West. North Park is where Jack and his bride found their passion for life in ranching. As Jack would say, “We moved to North Park and the rest is history.” They started their own outfit known as the Lewis Ranch and began their own commercial cow operation raising Herefords, then moved on to Angus over the years. A mainstay in their operation has also been growing premium North Park grass hay. Jack and his bride Judy celebrated 52 years of marriage this year.

The couple raised their young family here, Mike (Yampa, CO), Cathy (CA) and Cary. Their children attended school and were all graduates of North Park High. He shared his passion with his family and instilled a love of ranching in them. Outside of ranching Jack has been a member of the Colorado Cattlemans Association and the North Park Stockgrowers. He has been a large supporter of the North Park Fair and expressed his love for the fair.

Jack has also been a hay donor for the North Park Never Summer Rodeo for so many years we’ve lost count. We appreciate his sponsorship year, after year and feel it fitting he be honored for his contribution to program. Jack is a joy to know and has a heart of gold. It is with great pleasure and gratitude that we dedicate the 75th rodeo in North Park to Jack Lewis.
