North Park Fishing Conditions Report

Lake John/Delaney Butte/Cowdrey Lakes

Good afternoon! Beautiful weather here lately and great fishing. Memorial Day Weekend was wonderful, and we got a lot of fish pictures as it was active and is continuing to be active.

At Lake John we are seeing a lot of 14-16” fish with great girth and good 18-21” fish mixed in there. The nightcrawlers, garlic or shrimp powerbait, flatfish, and needlefish with a piece of worm are still staying strong. This past weekend we also seen a lot of cheese powerbait producing nice fish. Flies in the brown, black or white color are doing well (I know that says “white” and yes it’s working).

Fishing at the Delaney’s is still reporting active for browns, rainbows and cuttbows all in the 20”+ range. On North, trolling Rapala’s has paid off well for some. Bugger patterns and small in-line spinners are doing well here too.

No new updates from Cowdrey lately, the last we heard was shore fisherman reporting it’s much slower, however, belly boaters are catching great 19-20” trout and reporting it’s active.

We are seeing strong midge hatches at the Delaney’s and Lake John. The mosquitoes are starting here at Lake John and in full force at the Delaney’s. We have plenty of bug spray in stock at our general store if you run out or forget yours

No new updates on the docks. The boat docks are in at East & South Delaney and Cowdrey. Neither docks are in at Lake John or North Delaney.

For those camping around the lake at the Delaney’s, Lake John or heading to Big Creek, we can help you with a water fill, dump station, portable propane tank fill and we offer public showers.

Please don’t forget that we have a general store here and bait & tackle with nightcrawlers! We also have cabins available if you are wanting to stay out at the lake! Please visit our website at lakejohnresort.com for more information and call us for a reservation.

Enjoy your weekend and we hope to see you see soon!
