New Music Talent Headlining Kickoff Concert

Caitlyn Ochsner is an up and coming country artist from Kersey, Colorado with deep roots in agriculture and a voice as memorable as the Rocky Mountains themselves. This blonde-haired, blue-eyed, ranchraised singer/songwriter will take you on a musical journey playing favorites from popular country legends like Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire as well as recent hit makers including Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, and Lady Antebellum. Audiences are amazed by her versatility when she breaks into some rock hits from the 80’s and peppers her performance with a couple of favorites from country artist’s including Aaron Watson and Cody Johnson. Over the past several years, Caitlyn has begun developing her skills as a songwriter and enjoys including several of her own songs in her set, including her most cherished original, “Home”. Young and old alike are impressed and entertained by the vocal quality and instrumental skills of this talented young band!

Caitlyn is not just another artist that bought a pair of boots, moved to Nashville and decided to pursue a career in country music. She has lived the rural life! From the moment she was able to walk, she was riding horses, filling grain buckets, and driving the pickup while her dad fed hay on her family’s cow/calf operation. Life on the ranch along the South Platte River provided many opportunities to enjoy God’s handiwork, but also gave her an appreciation of the sacrifice, hard work and commitment involved in production agriculture. She has spent time in freezing temperatures bedding down cattle in the midst of a winter storm, gotten out of bed at 2:00 a.m. to check cows that were due to calve, and remembers working feverishly to evacuate livestock during the historic Colorado flood of 2013. Experiences like these have taught her how to work hard without any guarantee of success, trust in God even when things seem hopeless, and find satisfaction in the simple things of life. Caitlyn’s musical debut began when she was just 8 years old at the local county fair. She entered the Weld County Idol contest and sang a song entitled, “Anything is Possible”. As she sang the song, she felt like God had spoken directly to her and planted a dream to pursue a career in music. “It was as if I had just discovered a gift with my name written on it, and He was encouraging me to begin unwrapping it,” Caitlyn said. She has spent the past 10 years taking private classical vocal lessons, singing at cowboy churches, weddings, nursing homes, and local community events, and starting a country band in hopes of developing and sharing her gift.

In 2014 Caitlyn was invited to sing the National Anthem at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Nevada. She uses every singing opportunity to share her faith and use her gifts of encouraging, uplifting and loving others. Caitlyn is currently a Sophomore at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, majoring in Commercial Music Voice with an emphasis in Music Business.
