GOULD SKI SCRAMBLE

The Gould Sky Scramble and Snow Shoe Stomp is happening this Saturday at the Gould Community Center. Registration should begin around 10:30 a.m. and the races begin at noon. Get there if you aren’t anywhere else.

And where else might you be? Well the Colorado High School state wrestling tournament starts Thursday at Pepsi Center in Denver. The Wildcats have one competitor in the 160-pound division competing. Eli Houston will be trying to win four matches in a row.

The Wildcat basketball team will also be starting a new season at 7 p.m. in Olathe in the district tournament. The Wildcats will face the Norwood Mavericks to try to advance in their tournament. If they win they will face DeBeque to try to advance to regionals in Glenwood Springs next week. By beating DeBeque the Wildcats will advance to a game that will determine their seeding at regionals. That game will be played Saturday in Olathe.

The Ladycats will be playing in Olathe on Friday and their opponent will be the winner of Dove Creek and Norwood. If they win that game they will advance to regionals. The seeding at regionals will be decided on Saturday if the Ladycats advance.

Sunday, Don Ewy’s memorial service will be held at the Gould Community Center. The service will begin at 1 p.m. with a potluck to follow. There is plenty to keep people busy this weekend. Ski, stomp, race, cheer and remember a community member. All things North Park.
